Silent Season (9th September – 18th October)
During this time essential maintenance work will be being carried out within the distillery and so we will be unable to run our distillery tours.
Premium Tasting (During Silent Season)
£23 – 1.5 Hours
Starting off at the pier in Caol Ila we will talk you through the history of our distillery before taking into the cooperage where we will warm you up with 5 delicious drams from the Caol Ila range. The guide will talk you through the process of making whisky at Caol Ila and how it differs from the other island distilleries and ultimately how this creates the character of our spirit.
Caol Ila Distillery Tour
£6 – 1 Hour
Includes a guided tour of the whisky making process where you will enjoy panoramic views of the magnificent Paps of Jura from our stillhouse. After your distillery tour you will be taken to the old cooperage where you will get the chance to sample a couple of expressions of our fine malt. A complimentary glass and a voucher for £5.00 off the purchase of selected 70cl single malt whisky is also included.
Core Range Tour
Optional addition to the standard distillery tour. Upgrade your visit to include a core range tutored tasting at the end of the distillery tour for a further £9 (total price £15). Please note this will add an additional 30 minutes to the finishing time of your distillery tour and is not available on the 15.30 distillery tour.

This experience includes an express tour of our distillery followed by a tutored nosing and tasting of our more limited expressions, including distillery only releases. The tasting is hosted in our old cooperage which is full of character – the perfect place to enjoy your favourite Caol Ila. We also throw in a complimentary glass and a voucher for £5.00 off the purchase of 70cl single malt whisky.
Whisky & Food Pairing
£23 – 1 Hour
This experience is a tutored nosing and tasting. You will sample five expressions of Caol Ila. Four whiskies will be matched beautifully with a selection of artisan chocolate and blue cheeses. You will also have the opportunity to taste our exclusive unpeated edition.

Booking for tours is advisable and Tastings are to be booked an hour in advance.
Don’t forget if you are a Friend of the Classic Malts to bring your journal as your tour is free & discounts are available to you on our other experiences.
As Caol Ila is a working distillery it is possible we may have to cancel tours due to unavoidable maintenance breaks. We advise that you always contact the distillery or check our website before your visit to avoid disappointment.
For health & safety reasons, children under 8 years old are not permitted in the production areas of the distillery.
Disabled persons including those with guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome at our 12 distillery visitor centres.
We will make reasonable adjustments to the distillery visitor tour that we offer at each visitor centre to ensure that disabled persons including those with guide dogs or other assistance dogs have a positive visitor experience and, above all else, remain safe.
The unique layout of each distillery location and visitor centre means that the reasonable adjustments we make at each distillery may vary.
If you are a guide dog assisted person we ask you to book your visit in advance highlighting your specific requirements so that we can endeavour to deliver a positive visitor experience.
